The story of Frankenstein can easily be compared to the Greek   story of Prometheus. Mary Shelley actually subtitled her novel “The  advanced(a) Prometheus” because of the Promethean ideas she uses as the   flat coat coat of her story. “According to the Greeks, Prometheus stole  excitation from the gods.” (Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus).
